Day 11: Camden Market

I woke up early… Again. I find it difficult to sleep in whilst staying with 16 other people! Today we stuffed our faces with Vegemite toast for breaky!! We were going to meet Steph after 12 but it was only 11am. We went back to our room and I fell asleep and woke up at 1pm!!! I was so dazed and confused afterwards.

I rang Steph and we decided to meet at Camden Street. I forgot that it was a Sunday and every man and his dog were at the markets!!

Emma and I went to find a cafe to sit down at and have a sandwich but, because it was 2pm, everyone had the same idea. We walked miles through food stalls and arts and crafts stalls and we finally found a pub/restaurant to sit down at. Steph rang me and I gave her specific instructions on how to find us. She arrived shortly after.

We had beautiful crusty bread with balsamic vinegar and hummus and then I had a steak sandwich with jalapeños. We went for a wander through some of the stalls. Some were fantastic and were unique to the markets but the majority of it reminded me of Queen Victoria market and wasn't really good quality.

Before we knew it, it was 4.30pm so we had a coffee to defrost the hands and headed back to the station at 5.30pm. Some of the stations in London are ‘exit only’ to reduce congestion. Camden street is one of these stations and was closed from 1pm until 5.30pm.

I finally said my goodbyes to Steph as I wouldn't be seeing her again. And Emma and I made our way back to the hostel and we bought blackberries, strawberries and natural yoghurt. It was nice to have something fresh for dinner!!
